Meet Sarai Grace 🌟
Good Morning! Back here again at the end of the week to bring you another Content Creator Connection. Yesterday I brought you along through a feed of color, and now let me introduce you to a feed of life. Sarai Grace (pronounced Sarah Grace), is one of the newer content creators on the block...but that means nothing to this Tik Tok social media queen. Sarai Grace was supposed to be doing her last DCP, before COVID-19 began. She was informed by the Walt Disney World Company that the College Program would be cancelled for the Spring 20 session. Sarai Grace was bummed, but did not allow this to put a damper on her creativity side.

When Tik Tok started, Sarai Grace took to this new creative platform. After creating a video about the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction spiel, her account sky rocketed. She soon began to recreate other attraction spiels, show park outfit style, and DIY Disney shirts. BUT the thing that made me drawn to all her social media accounts, was her ability to showcase things outside the theme park bubble. She touches on Orlando businesses, and hidden photo locations that you may not know of. I know personally I have looked into some of the locations Sarai Grace has talked about whenever I am looking for a little adventure in Orlando. Wonder who's behind the majority of her photos? Her husband Wesley is constantly supporting Sarai Grace with all her random creative ideas. He is always hyping her up behind the camera, as well as be a team together. I've been lucky enough to call this chickadee an amazing friend, so I sat down with her to look into her thoughts about the social media aspects, Tik Tok creativity, and some of her advice for creators that want to get started on social media now.
When did you start social media?
Ok, so I've been on social media for about 7 years. But I started The Sunny SG in November! I'm a PR major and after having several flop accounts, I went into The Sunny SG knowing exactly what I wanted her to be.
What camera equipment do you use?
For IG/TikTok my iPhone!! For YouTube, I use a Cannon G7x Mark ii. NEVER let the fear of "not having good equipment" stop you!!
Where do you come up with your content ideas?
THE SHOWER!! I feel like it's when I'm unplugged and away from social media that I get most creative. Also my closet. A lot of my videos and IG pics were inspired by a piece of clothing that I want to style! I also love to get inspo from other creators (& of course give credit!), especially on TikTok!
Recommendations for content creators just starting out?
Never be afraid to try something new! I got my big start on social media with TikTok, which I always said was just so not for me. I think also it's so important to make content that you love, first. Don't try and fit into a mold of what you think everyone wants to see. The followers and likes will come when you're creating things YOU love and enjoy doing!
What's your favorite place to adventure to?
Anywhere with my husband! Tennessee will always have a special place in my heart, though!
What's your favorite part about your day?
My morning coffee! I get to plan my day and that is always so fun to me! It also gives me a chance to set the tone for my day.
If you could be any animal what would you be? Why?
I would want to be on of the Disney ducks! They just chill in the parks getting to listen to atmo music all day, what a dream!
How do you suggest to go about collaborations with brands?
Confidence is key!! Also I don't think it's talked about enough that it's absolutely ok for you to make the first move! I always reach out with an example of something I have done before that I know works especially with TikTok to show my audience is already on board. I also have gotten very ok with hearing no. Not everyone will fit your vibe and that's ok! The perfect brands will find their way to you. Also know your worth as a creator!!
What advice would you give to someone who is not always confident it the content they put out there?
Make content that makes YOU happy!! Not every post is going to do spectacular, but if you love what you've done, that is what matters!
Universal or Disney?
UGH if you'd asked me a moth ago I would have said Disney hands down. I love Disney for the magic and nostalgia, but the Wizarding World is one of my most favorite places, ever.
Where is some place you wish to visit in the future?
California is very high on my list. I want to do a road trip and travel San Diego to San Fransisco!! I think there is SO much to see & do and inspiration to be found!
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received as a creator?
Your work is valuable. The time, energy, and creativity that go into your posts are worth something to any brand wanting to work with you! Know your worth and don't be afraid to ask for compensation for your work!
What is the main thing you wish to put into the world?
I truly want to help fill the world with sunshine! There is so much negativity EVERYWHERE and I want to be a source of joy and positivity for others.
If you're looking for a gal that spews love, ideas, and always is down to talk to you if you have any questions...head over to @thesunnysg to follow along her Orlando adventures. Sarai Grace also has A Week as a Content Creator over on her YouTube, if you are looking to see all the "glamorous" things we get to do haha.
Have a great start to your weekend!
XOXO,
Aliya Burshan
